My work focuses on growth and decay, expressing the changes in nature on a variety of surfaces such as mould, rust and moss. These textiles are inspired by tactile qualities and vibrant colour. I have reinterpreted their surfaces into new contemporary designs and reinventing them into fashion pieces. My textile collection is full of textures and layers. I have developed photographic images into paint and merged them into digitally manipulated designs, screen print and distressed surfaces. The work explores different ways of experimenting with overprinted composition, to create richly textured fashion fabrics on heavyweight cloths for sharply structured garment.
